Guha fined for wild animals |
An Utterson area man has been
found guilty of keeping wildlife in captivity.
Viveka Nanda Guha – owner of Guha’s Lion’s and Tigers, just
north of Bracebridge – pleaded guilty to keeping two wild turkeys
and two wolves without authorization under the Fish and Wildlife
Conservation Act. He was fined $2,000, given a one-year
probation and ordered to repay $500 to the Ministry of Natural
Resources to partially cover the cost of caring for the seized
animals.
Court heard that the ministry entered Guha’s Lions and Tigers in
Utterson with a search warrant on Sept. 19, 2007, and removed a
number of live game wildlife.
