Trustee and vice-chair Anne Cool, who represents electors in Huntsville/Lake of Bays resigned Oct. 6.
Cool has taken full-time employment in Toronto. “I have many mixed feelings about leaving Trillium Lakelands District School Board,” Cool said following a special meeting of the Board.
Trustee Chairperson Rick Johnson said he shares Cool’s “mixed feelings.”
“Anne is right. She has truly brought so much to our board table discussions,” Johnson said. “It will not be a matter of replacing her dedication, commitment, and expertise; it will be a matter of finding out what skills a new trustee will bring to the table.”
Cool, who is taking a job in her field of human resources, said she has not just enjoyed her time as a trustee for Huntsville, but that she is taking valuable lessons into her new job. “I feel I brought something to the table. I wasn’t expecting life to provide this new opportunity at this particular time.”
Haliburton County trustee Valerie Smith was voted in as vice-chair on Tuesday night. See inside for ad on how to apply to fill Cool’s position as trustee.
