Thanks Leisureworld staff
I have found in the last years that as a society we seldom
feel and have empathy for our fellow man.
Most of us do our duty and what we feel has to be done, but
the ‘extra mile,’ that is some times needed in order to show
that we personally care, does not seem to be there anymore.
However, this last week I experienced this kind of empathy and
realized that it still exists. This week my sister Anna Marie
Elistve died in Leisureworld, Gravenhurst and I was awed and
deeply grateful for the nursing staff’s care; how quietly and
sensitively they respected not only the patient’s needs, but
also the needs of her family members.
I
have been in similar situations many times before, but never
have I felt such understanding support and respect from the
staff.
My heartfelt thanks to the 3rd floor staff at Leisureworld.

Local winter games we could
do without!
For anyone who feels bad that they couldn't go to the
Olympics, you're in luck. Gravenhurst has it own winter games.
They take place on Wellington St during all hours of the day,
but mainly at 11 p.m. Keep in mind you may want to bring
earplugs.
The snowmobiling starts earlier in the day but the fastest and
noisiest races start around 10:30 -11 at night.
The more you REV your machine the better. The LOUDER the
better.
Don't worry, the people that actually live on Wellington St.
have learned that their kids can't play on the street, or go
for a walk, or get any sleep because of these games. Even if
you work nights you don't have to worry about sleeping because
on weekends the snowmobiles sit on the street running while
the owners discuss their race strategies. This can take long
periods of time to decide who to drive crazy for the day with
their noisy, overpowered OFF-ROAD machines.
Welcome to Muskoka
