Police seek help in mystery murder – body found at Muskoka cottage

Police are appealing to the public for any information on the last known whereabouts of Samantha Collins, who would be 32 years of age and had a last known address in Bracebridge in a mystery that has cops scratching their heads.

As the investigation progresses, the OPP is seeking any information from anyone who may of seen or heard from Collins anytime between the spring of 2007 until the discovery of her remains at a cottage on Merrick Drive in the town of Bracebridge on Monday July 5.

On that evening members of the Bracebridge OPP attended the cottage where human remains were located.

A post-mortem examination was completed and it was determined she was the victim of a homicide.

The OPP investigation is continuing with the assistance of members of the Muskoka Crime Unit and the Central Region Forensic Identification Unit and is under the direction of Acting Detective Inspector Paul McCrickard of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
